About Just Paws Animal Rescue
Just Paws Animal Rescue is a non profit organization located in the province of Ontario, in the Greater Toronto Area. We rescue animals that are in high kill shelters, abandoned, abused, or unloved. These animals are fully vetted and neutered/spayed before being re-homed. We also accept owner surrender pets. We realize that hard times may fall on good people and that the needs of the animals may not be met. Our volunteers are compassionate non-judgmental animal lovers who want to bring awareness to the atrocious amounts of animals living in shelters. Healthy loving animals would be a welcome addition to any home, yet are often overlooked.
We are an experienced group of people who have volunteered many days of our lives to animal rescues and have decided to spread the love and create our own rescue. We are an all volunteer, foster home based program. We are not a kennel or shelter and we do not have a central office or adoption location. Our volunteers work out of their homes and all of our dogs are housed and cared for by foster caregivers in a home setting. We have NO paid employees. All positions held are by volunteers that give their time and talents to promote our mission.
How It Works

Connect with Just Paws
You’ll have to go through a rigorous adoption process starting with our Adoption Application. Applicants must be over the age of 21. We are unable to adopt to families with children under 8 or who live more than 2 hours outside of the GTA. All of our foster parents are relied on to help place our fosters in the perfect furever home so that we can ensure a happy transition as they become an addition to your family!

Schedule a Meet & Greet
Before we even allow for our adoptables to meet potential adoptees, we need to ensure a safe and stable home. This means selected applicants will have a home visit to where your potential adoptable dog will be spending most of its time. From there, we schedule a meet & greet with the foster and potential family!

Create a Furever Home
We do our best to ensure that all of our adoptable dogs are placed in the best possible family for their personality and specific needs. Once you’ve met the pet, and the foster parent agrees that it’s a perfect fit, we’ll start the adoption process. We will help you learn everything you need to create the perfect furever home for your new pet!
