PASTITO is now MILO!
After working with a few rescue organizations in Ontario, I came across Just Paws. After a bit of research I was impressed by how positively they are recommended and well associated they are with other rescues. Then I saw Pastito’s (now Milo) posting and applied immediately.
The transparency and communication of Just Paws has been a refreshing change from other rescue organizations. Just Paws really does want to make sure it is the right fit for both the family members and the dog. The volunteers were all so lovely to work with and made it such a smooth transition. It has been 5 years since I’ve said goodbye to my dog Winnie, and I was very nervous for such a big transition in welcoming a rescue dog into my home. Janice, Cindy, Dave and the rest of the volunteers were so reassuring. Unexpectedly, Milo had a bump on his face that was not indicated in the vet records which concerned me during my foster to adopt week and Just Paws coordinated a vet visit, fluid testing, and antibiotics (now resolved).
The transition for Milo has been an interesting one, he did indeed sleep very hard for the first 3-4 days but has since started having a few zoomies and playing with his stuffies. Milo is quite a unique character, complete with tongue out in full force. His tic from distemper has calmed a bit thanks to a combination of CBD oil and a calm environment. Milo is liking his new set of neckerchiefs…. stylish and helpful to catch his water drool after a big drink. He is growing more brave each day living downtown Toronto with all the noises that it brings. Witnessing him achieve daily milestones is so rewarding.
Thank you Just Paws. Welcome home Milo, the good life starts now.
