Toby

I reached out to Just Paws Rescue about a dog that piqued my interest. He was adopted by another family, but they contacted me to inform me of another puppy’s arrival. Toby’s history with an unregistered breeder remains unclear. At approximately two years old, he needed support learning fundamental dog behaviors, which his foster provided in the first weeks. We continue to guide and nurture him. Toby came to us for a trial with our family to assess his compatibility with Watson and his car behaviour on long drives to the cottage. This went very well.
We have found Toby incredibly endearing. He is such a sweet boy and he is soft, and cuddly, and so very quiet. Playtime with Watson brings out Toby’s speed and agility. Watson is pleased to have a companion, and has been very patiently mentoring Toby. Initial concerns with rescue dogs are potential escape attempts, prompting close supervision and double leashing, but escape concerns have been alleviated, as is always close by me. Toby has adjusted to his leash (although still startled by strange noises), and has learned some basic commands as well. We are grateful to have Toby join our family; he is an excellent addition, and a very good boi!
